Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Drill and Shovel Mechanic to repair and maintain loading and drilling equipment, including Hitachi EX5500 shovels and P&H 4100 XPC, on a rotating 5-4 schedule in our Nevada operations. You will work with maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient mine operation.

The role requires reading schematics, ordering parts, and performing basic welding. Strong safety discipline and the ability to work night shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively, in English using all standard forms of business communication.
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment and support a 24/7 operation in strenuous physical conditions both indoors and outdoors, day and night shift.
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of failure and wear analysis.
• Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures relating to mine equipment and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on loading and drilling equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals and schematics.
• Read and disseminate information from maintenance literature.
• Coordinate repairs with maintenance supervisor.
• Improve maintenance strategy to maximize equipment availability.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks.
• Assess safety hazards and ensure compliance with containment policies.
• Conduct Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Order parts and manage procurement.
• Maintain clean work areas and safe conditions.
• Monitor downtime and estimate repair times.
