Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Mine Maintenance Mechanic for our Valmy, NV operations. The role reports to the rotating shift Supervisor and follows a 5/4 rotating days/nights schedule.

You will troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment using a work order system, perform preventive maintenance, interpret schematics, and support safe operations. Candidates should have strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a valid driver's license; experience with hydraulic and electrical systems is

Qualifications

  • Own and maintain required personal tools as per the technician’s level.
  • Experience in heavy equipment - hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and follow SOPs.

With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future! **Job Description:****General Objectives:**Reporting to the rotating shift Supervisor, the heavy duty mechanic typically works a rotating 5/4 days/nights schedule. The mechanic repairs and maintains all hauling and support equipment through planned maintenance scheduling; monitors equipment; communicates equipment needs and issues; partners with operations departments and mobile planning to provide both tactical and strategic support for the needs of the mine to operate in an effective, efficient and safe manner.**Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties:**The key responsibilities of the Mechanic include, but are not limited to the following:* Lead by example, in all of Marigold’s safety processes, ensuring safe practices are utilized while performing work.* Utilizes computer technology and a work order system to troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment, including preventative maintenance and component replacement.* Implements continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availability.* Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals.* Performs work area housekeeping duties.* Determines if work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.* Determines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairs.* Ability to order correct parts for procurement from the warehouse or supplier.* Responsible for compliance with company contamination control policies.* Unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship including immediately reporting and mitigating spills and other environmental impacts.* Other Duties assigned**Required Skills:*** Must be able to communicate effectively, in English using all standard forms of business communication* Excellent organizational and problem solving skills* Clear understanding and willingness to observe and practice company SOPs and policies* Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures relating to mine equipment and maintenance practices (i.e. guarding, blocking, lock out tag out)* Knowledge and skills to operate and understand diagnostic equipment including computerized instrumentation* Consistent attendance* Valid Driver License**Required Experience:*** Own and maintain required personal tools as per the technician’s level of expertise* Individuals with strong experience in heavy equipment - hydraulic and electrical systems preferred* Understanding of failure and wear analysisSSR Mining Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
