Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our milling operations near Leadville. You will safely maintain, install, and repair equipment in the milling plant—working with conveyors, mills, screens, and associated systems.

The role requires 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent education, the ability to read schematics/blueprints, and demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Welding skills (Stick/TIG) are a plus, with on-site housing allowance and comprehensive

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Must have completed academic and competencies required, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees; demonstrate mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and processes in the Milling plant including mills, conveyors, screens and related systems.
• Assist with and perform component replacement and repairs on conveyor systems, ball mills, auto mills, screen decks, lube systems, filter drums, crushers, hydraulic filter presses, and foundry pumps.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance: identify potential failures/noises/wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, gear boxes.
• May perform welding (Stick, TIG).
• Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections.
• Perform other duties as required.
