Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Leadville, Colorado, is seeking a maintenance technician to safely perform maintenance, installation, and repair of milling plant equipment including mills, conveyors, screens and similar systems. Applicants should have 1 year of mechanical/maintenance experience and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

The role may require shift work in a 24/7 operation; on-site staff may qualify for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or education/experience combination in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Completed academic and competencies required, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude; pass written assessment.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of milling plant equipment (mills, conveyors, screens, and similar systems).
• Assist with component replacement and repairs on conveyor systems, ball mills, screen decks, lube systems, crushers, and more.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance; identify wear, noises, and potential failures.
• May perform welding (Stick, TIG).
• Maintain work orders, keep a clean, safe work area, and perform inspections.
