Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a maintenance technician for on-site work at Climax Molybdenum in Colorado. The role focuses on safe maintenance, installation, and repair of milling plant equipment, with opportunities for welding and preventive maintenance.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience, can read schematics and blueprints, and will complete required assessments and training. On-site housing allowance applies for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• 1 year of mechanical/maintenance experience or equivalent
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints
• Completion of required academic competencies and internal progression requirements, plus a written assessment

Responsibilities

• Safely maintains, installs, and repairs equipment in the Milling plant (mills, conveyors, screens, and similar systems)
• Assists with component replacement on conveyors, ball mills, screens, lube systems, crushers, and pumps
• Performs mechanical lubrication and preventive maintenance; identifies wear and potential failures
• May perform welding (Stick, TIG)
• Maintains work orders, keeps a clean, safe work area, and conducts inspections
• Performs other duties as required
