Job summary

UW-La Crosse is seeking a Regional Admission Counselor to lead recruitment efforts in the Greater Milwaukee area. This off-campus role travels up to 50% to meet prospective students, families, and counselors, promoting UW-La Crosse and its programs.

The position requires strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills, plus a bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license. Housing and travel accommodations are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree must be posted by hire date.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including low income or first generation.
• Excellent written communication and public speaking skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift and transport materials up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement a personalized recruitment program involving high school visits, phone calls, correspondence, and campus visits.
• Represent UW-La Crosse during high school visits, college fairs, and events in the assigned area.
• Travel is required; meet with prospective students and families in various settings.
• Assist in campus visitation programs and coordinate monthly campus visits for Milwaukee area students.
• Develop and implement recruitment events on and off campus; present admissions information to groups of prospective students and families.
• Support admissions-related activities and coordinate with UW-La Crosse Admissions staff.
