Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for an Assistant Coach- Women’s Basketball/ Admissions Counselor. This unique role combines coaching with an Admissions Counselor position to recruit a diverse student body across Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.

As Admissions Counselor, you will meet prospective students and families, high school counselors, and community groups to promote UW-Lax opportunities, with extensive travel during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Basketball coaching or playing experience at high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written and public speaking.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including low income and first-generation students.
• Valid driver’s license and a two-year driving history.

Responsibilities

• Admissions Counselor responsibilities: meet with prospective students and families, promote UW-Lax opportunities, travel extensively for recruitment, and build diverse applicant pools.
• Assistant Coach responsibilities: assist in planning, recruiting, coaching, and administering the basketball program, including travel and equipment coordination.
