Job summary

Reworld Waste seeks a dedicated maintenance mechanic to inspect, repair and maintain rotating machinery across our waste-processing plant. You will service pumps, conveyors, gearboxes and related equipment, performing welds and precision alignment while upholding safety standards and strict on-call schedules.

The role requires five years’ experience, welding certification for pressure parts, and strong reading of blueprints. High school diploma or GED and technical training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment.
• Certified to weld on pressure parts is required or desired.
• Formal technical or apprenticeship training is preferred.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain rotating machinery and equipment.
• Assess mechanical alignment, balance, level of conveyors, boilers, pumps and fans.
• Check, repair, adjust or replace couplings, bearings and mounts.
• Fabricate and weld platforms, chutes and non-pressure components per code.
• Perform weld repairs on pressure vessels and piping.
• Carry out preventive maintenance including vibration, thermography, and ultrasonic tests.
• Participate in teardown and inspection of major equipment.
• Operate shop equipment to repair gearboxes, pumps and assemblies.
• Read measuring tools, graphs and technical manuals.
• Follow health, safety rules and keep work area clean.
