Job summary

BlueScope in Kalama, WA seeks a skilled Millwright to install, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical production equipment and plant systems. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while supporting reliability improvements and outage activities.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance, 2+ years reading blueprints, and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and power transmission. Strong problem solving is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years blueprint/drawing reading experience.
• Minimum 2 years millwright experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, and power transmission equipment.
• Working knowledge of rigging, welding, crane equipment, and precision maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP CMMS for maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work weekends, extended hours, outage support, on-call, or adjusted schedules.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment and plant infrastructure.
• Diagnose failures involving hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes, and conveyors.
• Perform precision maintenance including alignment, torqueing, and rebuilds.
• Read and update mechanical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
• Document work in SAP MMS and support planning and scheduling.
• Participate in outage planning, shutdowns, and start-up activities.
• Provide on-call maintenance response as required.
