Job summary

BlueScope in Kalama, WA, invites applications for a Millwright to support the CPNA Maintenance & Engineering organization. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical production equipment and plant infrastructure, while ensuring safe, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include preventive and predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and outage support. You will work with SAP MMS to document work and mentor apprentices, applying strong hydraulics, pneumatics,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years blueprint/drawing reading experience and 2 years millwright experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, and power transmission equipment.
• Working knowledge of rigging, welding, crane equipment, and precision maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and effectively use SAP or a comparable CMMS for maintenance documentation.
• Ability to work weekends, extended hours, outage support, on-call, or adjusted schedules when business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment, utility systems, and plant infrastructure.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance per reliability standards.
• Use SAP MMS to document work, record failure information, create notifications, and capture equipment history.
• Participate in outages planning, shutdowns, commissioning, and start-up.
• Perform mechanical fabrication, rigging, and equipment installations.
• Mentor apprentices and promote continuous improvement within maintenance teams.
