Job summary

THOMPSON HARDWOODS INC. is seeking a Mid-level Millwright II to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery within the sawmill and related operations.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, independent work habits, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform preventative maintenance, read blueprints, align and calibrate equipment, and support upgrades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a millwright or industrial maintenance technician.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production machinery.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform timely, effective repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and operational needs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Align, level, and calibrate machinery and equipment.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance.
