Job summary

Wilson Lumber Company is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations at the Huntsville, AL Millwork Plant. This role will coach and support a production crew of about 15–25 employees, ensure production deadlines are met, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating workflows, managing schedules, monitoring output, and maintaining adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ years experience in operations leadership roles.
  • Strong communication, analytical and leadership skills required.

Job Shift: Day Shift

Role Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production at a Millwork Plant. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff.

Scope of the Position:

This position is responsible for the production team at the Huntsville, AL Millwork Plant. Direct reports include approximately 15 25 production employees.

Responsibilities:
  • Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
  • Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production schedule
  • Oversee all staff scheduling, time off request
  • Monitor quality and accuracy of all orders
  • Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment
  • Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required
  • Provide a positive, motivating example for employees
  • Conduct training or authorize training of production employees
  • Conduct formal performance reviews per the companys policy. Initiate disciplinary action according to company policy.
  • Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit
  • Inform Manager of equipment and production concerns
  • Monitor ongoing/production issues and provide clear communications and resolutions
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow Wilson Lumbers core values
  • Perform the duties of the Millwork Manager in the Millwork Managers absence

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience
  • A minimum of 3+ years experience in operations leadership roles
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Lift at least 50 pounds
  • Able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
