Role Summary:The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production at a Millwork Plant, as well as overseeing all shipping and receiving functions. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew and the Millwork dock team, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff.Scope of the Position:This position is responsible for the production and dock team at the Huntsville, AL Millwork Plant. Direct reports include approximately 15 – 25 production and dock employees.Responsibilities:Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updatesEnsure that all produced products are loaded and shipped onto enclosed trailers in a safe and timely mannerOversee all inbound receiving functions for the locationComply with all OSHA safety requirementsCommunicate effectively with the management staff, the production team and the dock team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are metEnsure company policies and procedures are followedOrganize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production and shipping scheduleOversee all staff scheduling, time off requestsMonitor quality and accuracy of all ordersEnsure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipmentEnsure employee safety training is conducted as requiredProvide a positive, motivating example for employeesConduct training or authorize training of production and dock employeesConduct formal performance reviews per the company’s policy.
