Job summary

Commercial Metals in Cayce, SC seeks a hands-on technician to inspect and maintain mill stands and guides, repair components from blueprints, and ensure safe, organized production areas. You will support roll operations and read drawings to prepare for production, with a focus on teamwork and reliability.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Roll Turners, managing parts, and upholding CMC safety standards while contributing to continuous improvement and safe, efficient manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
• Read and interpret blueprints and equipment drawings.
• Able to stand, walk, and work in extreme temperatures.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean mill stands and guides.
• Perform repairs per blueprints and standards.
• Maintain organized, safe work area.
• Order parts and manage spare parts inventory.
• Operate robots to replace mill stand rolls.
• Prepare equipment for upcoming production needs.
• Follow CMC safety programs.
• Open work orders and use QMOS to schedule builds.
• Coordinate with Roll Turners on rolls and passes.
• Support roll redressing prioritization.
