Job summary

CMC is hiring for roles in our steel and construction reinforcement operations. The position involves inspecting and repairing mill stands, reading blueprints, and preparing equipment for production across a dynamic shop environment.

You will participate in safety programs and support team goals while maintaining organization and efficiency. Candidates should be capable of shift work, physical tasks, and collaboration with Roll Turners.

Qualifications

• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Demonstrate positive engagement and attitude, including clear communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to cover shifts and support team members.
• Able to stand, walk, bend and work in heights in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect mill stands and guides returned to the shop from the mill floor.
• Conduct inspections of equipment using drawings and standards to identify repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sustainable working area.
• Make repairs using the ability to read blueprints.
• Order parts and maintain minimum spare-parts inventory levels.
• Operate robots to replace mill stand rolls and prepare guides for upcoming product rollings.
• Set up mill stands for use in the mill once rolls are installed.
• Open work orders, read and print documents from QMOS; adjust stand builds based on scheduling.
• Maintain spare parts availability in Roll Shop (SAP).
• Assist Roll Turners with roll redressing prioritization.
