Commercial Metals (CMC) seeks team-minded workers in Cayce, SC to support our rolling mill operations and related manufacturing tasks. You will learn product quality, feed into the cooling bed, and help maintain safety and efficiency on the line.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work with exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, and confined spaces.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Demonstrate dependability in attendance and work completion; flexible to meet business needs.
• Must be able to learn quickly and multitask.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Overtime and 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays may be required.
• Able to stand for the duration of shift and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Good reading, speaking, and writing English skills.

Responsibilities

• Place bars in blades safely and efficiently.
• Learn quality identification, cooling bed operation, and heat separation.
• Identify bar quality issues and inform shift supervisor.
• Support Rolling Mill crew with daily operations.
• Monitor reheat furnace temperature and adjust pace.
• Participate in safety programs and uphold safety culture.
• Ensure daily equipment inspection reports are completed.
• Understand startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain daily housekeeping around the workspace.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using knowledge and communication.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment as needed.
