Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an experienced engineer to join the mill lead team in Simsboro, LA. The role focuses on safety leadership, process improvements, and capital project execution within a heavy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will coach teams, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, HR, and finance to drive performance and reliability across the mill.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher and 6+ years of applied continuous process manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of Best Safety Practices.
• Knowledge and aptitude in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Demonstrated strength in interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated problems solving skills.
• Computer literate - AutoCAD, capability in Microsoft Office suite of products an asset.
• Knowledge and experience with implementing capital projects up to $5MM.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the mill lead team and improves safety for associates and contractors.
• Lead and/or support project and task teams to achieve mill objectives in a safe and timely fashion.
• Provide coaching and guidance to associates and set performance expectations.
• Lead education and training strategic plans for the functional area.
• Own the mill capital plan and forecasting functions.
