Job summary

Weyerhaeuser's Dodson, LA lumber mill seeks a Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance activities in a full-time exempt role prioritizing safety. The role drives process reliability across electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems while upholding high standards of performance.

You will coach and develop maintenance staff, manage budgets and capital projects, and collaborate with production to maximize uptime, reduce waste, and control costs through continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in a leadership role in an industrial environment.
• Strong safety performance and leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems and PLC programming.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance methods.
• Understanding of business/financial concepts and budgeting.
• Experience with capital projects and problem solving.
• Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and management of all maintenance activities with safety as priority.
• Direct preventive and predictive maintenance for process reliability.
• Manage KPI improvement and maintenance cost effectiveness.
• Develop and train maintenance associates; coach and mentor.
• Lead capital projects and problem-solving initiatives.
• Oversee purchasing in accordance with policies; support CMMS related to reliability.
• Lead team meetings and training; address safety, environmental, quality, and production issues.
• Coordinate with production to maximize productivity and minimize cost; reduce waste.
• Identify root causes and implement immediate corrective actions.
