Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking an entry-level Leadership Development Professional to pursue a career in Safety Management at the Idabel lumber facility in Oklahoma. The role reports to the Mill Manager under mentorship from the Safety Manager, focusing on developing safety leadership and understanding manufacturing operations.

The position offers hands-on development, with a pathway to a future role in the safety department upon completion of the program.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline.
• Willingness to adapt to strong safety culture and ensure safe execution of work.
• Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to learn manufacturing processes and develop leadership.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Windows-based programs.
• Willingness to relocate outside of the region for opportunities.
• Willingness to work alternate shifts when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring safety programs to ensure personnel and facility safety.
• Assist with safety training such as Lockout/Tagout and Emergency Response.
• Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring to keep exposures within limits.
• Monitor and enforce safety standards per OSHA and state regs.
• Support Health & Safety Manager and team in Safety Management system.
• Organize and participate in safety audits and inspections.
