Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a Mill Crush/Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mining equipment at the Henderson operation. You will handle transmissions, engines, and hydraulics, while performing routine lubrication and inspections.

The role includes welding and potential supervision, with opportunities to mentor colleagues. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a strong adherence to procedures in a 24/7 mining environment.

Qualifications

• Two years in mechanical/maintenance crafts or related field.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies per LOP.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand safety instructions.
• Proficient English for work instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to prioritize repairs and make effective decisions.
• Experience troubleshooting machine systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment (haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders).
• Remove/repair/install transmissions, engines, brakes, and other components.
• Perform mechanical lubrication and preventative maintenance on hydraulics and powertrains.
• Prioritize repairs and manage work orders; conduct area inspections.
• Operate mobile equipment (cranes, forklifts, boom trucks).
• Weld using carbon arc, plasma, MIG, TIG, and stick processes.
• Provide supervision as needed and mentor other employees.
• Perform additional duties as required.
