Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is hiring a Mill Crush/Convey Diagnostic Mechanic I at our Henderson mine and mill in Colorado. The role focuses on diagnostic maintenance, installation and repair of crush and conveying equipment and related systems, with opportunities to train others and perform advanced welding.

You will work on jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression systems and mobile conveying systems, across a 24/7, safety-focused operation.

Qualifications

• Two years of crush/convey mechanical maintenance experience.
• Welding/cutting proficiency (MIG, TIG, ARC, Oxy-acetylene).
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, plumbing, blueprints, schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair.
• Must have completed required competencies and pass assessments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication PMs; check oils and filters.
• Prioritize equipment repairs and maintain work orders.
• Train and mentor other employees.
• Perform advanced welding and fabrication.
• May operate forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks.
• Fill-in supervisor duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
