Job summary

Staffing Network is seeking an experienced Milk Plant Production Supervisor in Tempe, AZ to lead daily production in a dairy manufacturing setting. You will manage teams, ensure GMP, quality, safety, and on-time production, while driving continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have dairy/milk processing experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage a diverse, unionized workforce.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
• Dairy or milk processing experience strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience leading a diverse, unionized workforce.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Must be available to work the listed schedule, Saturdays, and overtime as needed.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Production Management: Oversee daily production activities and schedules.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop production associates.
• Food Safety & Quality: Enforce GMP and sanitation; ensure product quality.
• Inventory Control: Monitor materials and finished goods; coordinate with supply chain.
• Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety procedures and provide training.
• Cross-Department Communication: Collaborate with quality, maintenance, logistics, and others.
• Training & Development: Train new employees and coach ongoing performance.
• Problem-Solving: Identify issues and implement corrective actions.
• Regulatory Compliance: Support FDA/USDA/HACCP/OSHA requirements.
• Equipment Coordination: Manage maintenance and address production-impacting issues.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records and report performance metrics.
