Job summary
A structured apprenticeship program for Veterans in Saginaw, Michigan, is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience to train as Automotive Service Technicians. Through the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program, participants will gain hands-on experience and complete a one-year competency-based apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification. Eligible Veterans can receive a Monthly Housing Allowance through the GI Bill® during their apprenticeship. Full-time employment with an opportunity to develop into skilled automotive technicians is provided.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs using Kia diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and shop foremen.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Skills
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field
Education
Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service
