Qualifications

• Experience managing a food service or kitchen operation.
• Ability to train and supervise cooks and other staff.
• Knowledge of menu planning, recipe standardization and portion control.
• Strong inventory and procurement skills.
• Staff scheduling and staffing level decisions.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and quality control.
• Customer service focus and ability to manage patron expectations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate cooks and facility personnel to ensure efficient, profitable food service.
• Make operational decisions and uphold high standards for restaurant performance.
• Provide training for food service workers and create development plans.
• Prepare work schedules and assign tasks; balance workload.
• Evaluate staff performance and manage staffing levels and terminations as needed.
• Monitor attendance, leave policies, and communicate with team.
• Ensure policies and internal controls are followed and safety standards met.
• Assist in ordering supplies and contacting vendors; manage stock levels.
• Plan menus with managers and ensure adherence to recipes and menus.
• Supervise cooking of meats, soups, vegetables, and other dishes; regulate temperatures.
