Qualifications

• Three years of experience in conference/catering sales in military or civilian settings.
• Ability to supervise and manage staff effectively.
• Forecast sales, prepare simple contracts and accompany with pricing.
• Excellent written and oral communication with command personnel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between work sites.
• Knowledge of Navy Fleet Readiness policies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote and market the conference/catering program to maximize participation.
• Research markets and events to identify opportunities for conferences and catering.
• Meet with prospective clients, tour venues and tailor options to client needs.
• Prepare contracts, obtain client signatures and deposits.
• Coordinate with other departments and IPM for lodging, events and catering needs.
• Act as onsite event manager and supervise catering staff.
• Ensure budgeting, cost controls and profitability of events.
• Resolve patron complaints and solicit feedback for service improvements.
