Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers, Inc. in Walpole, MA is seeking a Milieu Director to lead therapeutic milieu programming for youth ages 13-19 with trauma histories, developmental delays or ASD.

You will supervise Team Leaders and counseling staff under the Program Directors and help implement a trauma-informed care model. Responsibilities include policy development, staff training, crisis intervention, and coordinating services with other clinical and educational teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• At least 4 years direct child care experience in a residential setting with emotionally challenged children.
• 2–3 years supervisory experience.
• Computer literate with the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for Residential Supervisors and counseling staff.
• Draft and revise program policies; monitor guidelines.
• Coordinate and provide staff training.
• Provide direct therapeutic care and crisis intervention as needed.
• Lead on-call coverage for the program on a rotating basis.
• Oversee petty cash system and approve expenses.
• Develop and monitor behavior management strategies.
• Foster a therapeutic milieu and coordinate activities.
• Co-chair treatment team and staff meetings; liaise with collateral agencies.
• Advocate for milieu services within the agency.
