Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers Inc. in Waltham is hiring a Milieu Director to lead a residential program serving LGBTQ+ youth and families. You will supervise staff, shape policies, and ensure therapeutic care and crisis support aligned with program guidelines.

You will train staff, oversee behavior management, restorative practices, and incident review while coordinating documentation. A bachelor’s degree and residential care experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Driver's license in good standing required.
• At least 4 years direct childcare experience in a residential setting.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and team supervision for Residential Counselors; hire, train and evaluate staff; oversee disciplinary actions and terminations.
• Draft and revise program policies and procedures; monitor THLW guidelines implementation.
• Coordinate and provide training for staff members.
• Provide direct therapeutic care to residents and crisis intervention including restraints; lead emergency management.
• Review incident reports and gather information for incidents.
• Develop and oversee implementation of behavior management systems.
• Ensure a therapeutic milieu; plan and coordinate therapeutic activities.
• Oversee shift documentation and reports.
• Oversee Restorative Practices within the program for youth and staff.
• May provide medical administration per MAP protocol.
