Job summary

North Wind Design is seeking a Project Manager for MILCON programs, based in Huntsville, AL with travel to other project sites. You will lead planning, design, procurement, and construction efforts, ensuring milestones are met and client expectations are achieved across federal projects.

The role requires 7+ years in project management, MILCON experience, and strong leadership, communication, and schedule management skills. Travel and security clearance eligibility are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• 3+ years of federal/MILCON project management experience.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing through planning, design, and construction phases.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Knowledge of federal project delivery processes and construction management practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage MILCON projects through all phases of planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Serve as primary liaison between government clients, project stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics.
• Monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract requirements and client expectations.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, environmental specialists, and construction personnel.
• Review designs, specifications, and cost estimates; manage risks and change control.
• Facilitate meetings, status reviews, and client briefings.
• Track financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and earned value as applicable.
