Job summary

North Wind Design in Huntsville, AL; seeks a Configuration Control Manager to lead MILCON configuration management on federal projects, ensuring changes align with cost, schedule, and contract requirements. The role can also support ongoing MILCON efforts in Las Vegas, NV or San Antonio, TX.

This position requires coordinating with project managers, engineers, and government representatives, maintaining audit trails, and supporting project closeout with validated baselines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum 8 years experience in configuration management or project controls.
• Experience with DoD/MILCON projects is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management and change control processes for MILCON projects.
• Serve as primary contact for configuration management, change requests, and baseline control.
• Manage configuration records and document control systems.
• Review ECPs, RFIs, design revisions, and contract modifications.
• Perform cost estimating and cost impact analyses for design changes.
• Coordinate reviews with project stakeholders.
• Facilitate CCB meetings and document decisions.
• Track and report changes throughout project execution.
• Verify configuration docs align with requirements and contracts.
• Assess impacts on cost, schedule, quality and mission requirements.
• Coordinate with PMs, engineers, and government reps for change implementation.
• Maintain audit trails and status accounting for modifications.
• Prepare reports and executive summaries on changes.
• Support project closeout by validating baselines.
