Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is seeking a journey-level Cost Engineer to join our team and deliver cost analyses for military construction and renovation projects. You will develop preliminary, budget, and detailed estimates for complex MILCON efforts and support design workshops with cost-conscious guidance.

You will review designs and contractor proposals, perform change-order analyses, and ensure cost data reflects current labor, material, and equipment trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer License is highly desirable.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive preliminary, budget, and detailed cost estimates for a wide variety of complex MILCON projects.
• Act as the lead estimator in design workshops and advise on cost control and alternative designs.
• Analyze designs, drawings, and specs to determine cost projections and evaluate contractor proposals.
• Review complex cost estimates produced by A/E firms and ensure contractual compliance; support QC of in-house designs.
• Research construction trends and maintain up-to-date labor, material, and equipment cost data.
