Job summary

North Wind Design is seeking a Configuration Control Manager to lead MILCON project change control and configuration management on-site in Huntsville, AL, with travel to project sites. You will coordinate with engineers, architects, and government representatives to ensure baseline control and cost awareness throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires 8+ years of CM experience, DoD MILCON exposure, and strong skills in cost estimating, change orders, and documentation management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in configuration management, project controls, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years supporting Federal MILCON projects (DoD/USACE/NAVFAC).
• Experience managing configuration control processes and change management.
• Experience with cost estimating and change order evaluations.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication and collaboration across stakeholders and teams.
• Ability to travel to active MILCON project locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CM and change control processes for MILCON projects.
• Lead configuration management and baseline control as primary contact.
• Review ECPs, RFIs, design revisions, and contract modifications.
• Perform cost estimating and cost impact analyses for design changes.
• Coordinate reviews with stakeholders and facilitate CCB meetings.
• Maintain audit trails and status accounting for modifications.
• Prepare reports and executive summaries on changes.
