Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to repair non-conforming parts and components in a fast-paced plant environment. You will perform MIG/TIG welds, move parts to correct locations, and participate in preventive actions to support plant flow.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, ability to read work instructions in English, and certification in MIG and/or TIG welding. We value safety, ownership, and teamwork in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years in relevant work experience

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Strong sense of ownership and reliability
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  • Repair parts/components as required
  • MIG/TIG weld parts and ensure quality welds
  • Move parts to correct locations in the plant
  • Participate in preventative actions and housekeeping
  • Maintain welding equipment and monitor shift performance

Who We Want:

Repair parts/components that are non-conforming to customer specification by welding, grinding, or other methods as required.

What You’ll Do:
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  • Repair parts/components
  • Mig Tig Tag parts
  • Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility
  • Participate in preventative actions where appropriate
  • Utilization of plexus (ERP system)
  • Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space
  • Maintain welding equipment
When and Where:

This will be a 1st or 2nd position located at our Plant 4 Holland, MI.

What You Need to Have:
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience
  • Certified in mig and/or tig welding
  • Has high standards of performance for self.
  • Takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes.
  • Is thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Able to be self-motivated and prioritize tasks as assigned
  • Takes positive action to objectively resolve conflict by listening, staying focused on issue to find resolution, and monitoring progress.
  • Maintains positive relationships by constructively resolving conflicts.
  • Uses feedback from others to continuously improve performance and work relationships.
  • Moves within own and/or other work areas (flexes) to support plant flow.
  • Works with sense of urgency to meet needs of customers.
  • Has ability to focus on benefits of change and see it as positive; approaches change or newness in constructive/objective manner; views change as learning opportunity.
  • Updates and relays pertinent information to shift supervisor and oncoming shift
  • Is at work when scheduled and ensures coverage when absent
