Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Welder/Repair Technician for the 1st shift (6AM–2PM) at our Walker, MI plant. You will operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal parts, calibrate welding equipment, and maintain tools in good order while following safety procedures.

We require 3–5 years of welding experience with MIG or TIG certification, plus strong English communication. This role supports our ESOP-driven, employee-owned culture focused on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires 3-5 years of relevant welding experience.
• Must be certified in MIG and/or TIG welding.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English at a functional level.

Responsibilities

• Operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components.
• Calibrate welding equipment.
• Maintain tools in good working order.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Tag parts and move them to the correct location in the plant/facility.
• Participate in preventative actions and keep work areas clean.
• Utilize Plexus ERP system to document operations.
