Job summary

Loenbro is seeking a Regional Project Cost Accountant to underpin the financial success of construction projects across the Midwest region. You will ensure accurate project setup, cost tracking, and timely closeout in collaboration with Accounting, FP&A, Project Controls, and Operations teams.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in project-based accounting within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting or project cost accounting experience.
• Experience with job cost tracking, budgeting, and WIP reporting within a project-based environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple stakeholders and departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate project setup and maintenance within company systems, including cost structures, budgets, and project financial data.
• Monitor job costs, support WIP reporting, and help maintain the accuracy and integrity of project financial information.
• Coordinate project closeout activities, including compliance documentation, lien waivers, open commitments, and cross‑functional follow‑up.
• Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Project Controls, Payroll, AP/AR, and Operations teams to resolve issues and support project financial performance.
• Support month‑end close processes by reviewing project transactions, researching discrepancies, and helping ensure accurate reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support standardization across regional operations.
