Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Texas special education certification.
• Texas teaching certificate with required SPED endorsements.
• Experience with ARD and IEP processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student assigned.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies reflecting diverse learning styles.
• Work with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly and conduct assessments of learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines and employ varied instructional media.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned and use technology in teaching.
