Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• Coaching application process and Rhode Island requirements.
• Must obtain updated National and State BCI checks.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
• Complete NFHS Concussion in Sports course annually.
• Complete NFHS Protecting Students From Abuse annually.
• NFHS RI State Component course for new coaches.
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest course annually.
• NFHS Implicit Bias course annually.
• NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention annually.
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention annually.
• NFHS Title IX and Sportsmanship courses.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individuals, small groups, and teams in skill development.
• Supervises team members at all times.
• Implements RI IL regulations and district policies.
• Monitors academics and emphasizes strong student performance.
• Models respectful conduct toward officials and opponents.
• Schedules practices and games with the athletic director and other coaches.
• Informs AD about facilities, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicates team matters to the athletic director.
• Notifies AD of safety risks.
• Delegates coaching duties to assistants and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned by AD and principal.
