Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Sr ServiceNow Developer for on-site support at Fort Meade, MD. You will configure, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions, focusing on ITSM, catalog workflows, and ITIL processes, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver digital transformation.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance and Security+ certification, 6+ years in tech infrastructure, and 4+ years in ServiceNow development.

Description

The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for a ServiceNow Developer.

Candidate must be able to be on site at Fort Meade. At a minimum, a Secret clearance is required upon the start of employment and within 14 days following the start date the employee must obtain their Security + certification.

As Sr. ServiceNow Developer you will perform configuration, development, support, and maintenance of the ServiceNow implementation. Works with external and internal stakeholders to understand, propose, and deliver digital transformation solutions with emphasis on request fulfillment, automated workflows through ServiceNow Service Catalogs and key ITIL processes like Request, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and other modules.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the standup, configuration and implementation of ServiceNows ITSM, OMT, TSM, and TSOM modules.
• Create and maintain Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, Groups and Roles
• Create, maintain and enhance Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports
• Create and configure tool integrations with ServiceNow (Elastic, Netcool, Kafka, etc)
• Coordinate and support application and platform upgrades
• Assist with design, creation and cataloging of business process flows
• Work with other members of the ServiceNow development team to propose solutions based on business needs and strategies
• Perform the necessary tasks to design and configure ServiceNow functions to meet operational needs
• Support business process re-engineering activities to move ticketing and order management capabilities into ServiceNow
• Identify trends and find patterns in unstructured and semi-structured customer data that can be used to create a more positive customer experience and increase overall network performance
• Interact with the customer to address Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues or conflicts
• Developing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to fit business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Orchestrate and automate tasks.
• Responsible for the design and build of ServiceNow Applications and integration to other applications and platforms, including architecture, languages, best practices, and methodologies in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Provide strong development and project on-track and on-task and collaborate on an ongoing project in both new and enhancements development between engineers, developers, analyst, and other team members.
• Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and process throughout ServiceNow development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input to support ongoing business needs for Service Now configuration, implementation, and support.
• Review and apply any additional UI/UX requirements from external and internal team and align into ServiceNow development.
• Utilizes available programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
• Support data migration as needed.
• Design and implement solutions following established Configuration Management policies and standards.
• Integrate data from multiple data sources into a unified CMDB, ensuring data quality and integrity are maintained.
• Works with and mentors junior developers to guide and coach them throughout each project.

Basic Qualifications

• Requires a US Citizenship.
• Hold and active security certification that meets DOD 8570 IAT level II or higher (i.e., Security+)
• Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Must be able to commute to Scott AFB, IL, Ft. Meade, MD, or Ogden, UT for full time on-site support
• Bachelors Degree with 8 12 years of relevant experience or masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
• At least 6 years of experience with the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure.
• At least 4 years of ServiceNow development.
• Experience with ServiceNow upgrades.
• The qualified candidate shall have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently, prioritize, schedule, and complete multiple tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and self-assign work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including
• the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership. Candidate
• shall have the ability to develop and present management level briefings.
• Demonstrate potential and willingness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology.
• Willing to assist and train junior developers.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
• Experience or familiarity with Agile development and testing methodology
• Exposure to ServiceNow applications like Telecommunication Management System (TSM), Telecommunications Network Inventory (TNI), Order Management Telecommunications (OMT) modules, etc.
• Experience with JIRA, Git and Confluence.
• Understanding of ITIL foundation or ITIL certified.
• AWS cloud and ServiceNow certifications.
• Bachelors degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline
• Experience working with large software systems including hardware integration and test.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary technical development teams.
• Experience using SAFe as the agile development methodology.
• Experience moving from a legacy application to a new application
• Experience applying test automation, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment to achieve built-in quality by the team.
• Experience using Kanban to improve flow on support teams.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and CI/CD implementation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Meade, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
