Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Account Executive in the Middle Market Business Center to underwrite, negotiate, and secure new and renewal business across a broad book of accounts. You will collaborate with agents and brokers to deliver tailored coverage while managing risk and profitability.

The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of underwriting experience, a CPCU designation, and strong communication and analytical skills to drive growth and client satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three to five years of underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of Business Insurance products and regulatory environment.
• Solid analytical ability to make timely underwriting decisions.
• Strong negotiation skills with agents and brokers.
• Two years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to support market penetration objectives.
• Foster relationships with external partners by delivering seamless underwriting experiences and solutions.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Support the execution of agency, region, and group sales plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
