Job summary

Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory seeks a mid-level Systems Engineer to support the Space Development Agency’s PWSA within the Strategic & Military Space Division. The role focuses on defense mission space and ground systems integration, end-to-end testing, and programmatic documentation.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, draft key technical documents, and help ensure system interoperability and verifiability while supporting schedule and risk management in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
• 10+ years of space systems engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with space and ground subsystems in government or commercial programs.
• Ability to interpret requirements and assess technical, cost, and schedule risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject-matter expertise on defense mission space and ground systems integration.
• Assess architecture, design, implementation, and operations for interoperability and end-to-end performance.
• Draft ICDs, SOWs, test plans, ConOps, and architecture documents.
• Lead or contribute to IV&V and interface working groups across space-to-ground domains.
• Communicate technical status across government program offices and stakeholders.
• Support program management in tracking, risks, interfaces, configurations, and task planning.
