Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to support the Space Development Agency’s PWSA within our Strategic & Military Space Division. The role focuses on managing software development projects for national security space systems, including space-ground interfaces, testing, and end-to-end performance verification.

You will draft and review ICDs, SOWs, and test plans, while guiding teams through system architecture analysis and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with space systems experience.
• 10+ years of space systems engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with government and commercial space programs.

Responsibilities

• Provides subject matter expertise related to defense mission space and ground systems integration.
• Assess system architecture, designs, implementation, and operations for interoperability and performance.
• Drafts input to ICDs, SOWs, test plans, ConOps, and architecture documents.
• Leads or participates in IV&V and interface groups for space-to-ground and ground networks.
• Maintains communication among government offices, space system providers, and engineering teams.
• Supports program managers with technical risk assessment and requirements management.
