Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mid-Level Structural (Buildings) Engineer to join our Federal Programs AEC Team in multiple US locations, including San Diego, CA. You will lead portions of structural design, coordinate with disciplines, and support projects from design through construction‑phase.

The role requires PE licensure, strong code knowledge, and experience with major design software. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in building structures, able to work independently, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of post‑education experience in analysis and design of building structures.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Proficient knowledge of structural codes, standards and principles.
  • Proficient with ETABS, SAP2000, RISA‑3D, RAM Concept, SAFE, Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience preparing calculations, drawings, specs and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform structural analysis and design of new and existing buildings.
  • Develop structural drawings, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Deliver projects in various delivery frameworks (Design‑Build, etc.).
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
  • Lead site visits, document conditions, review submittals and RFIs.
