Job summary

WSP is seeking a mid-level Structural (Buildings) Engineer to support our Federal Programs Team across multiple US locations, including Denver, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, San Diego, and Virginia Beach. You will handle design through construction-phase support on federal, defense, and public-sector projects.

The role targets engineers with building-design experience who can lead portions of projects, mentor juniors, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of post-education experience in analysis and design of building structures.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Knowledge of structural building codes, design standards, and principles.
  • Experience with ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, RAM Concept, SAFE, Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform structural analysis and design of new and existing buildings.
  • Develop drawings, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Deliver projects in various delivery frameworks (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, etc.).
  • Perform engineering calculations using structural software to evaluate loads and connections.
  • Coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
  • Lead site visits and construction-phase services.
  • Provide guidance and quality review for junior staff.
