Job summary

Modigent is seeking a mid-level Preconstruction Estimator II to prepare cost estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems. You will perform quantity takeoffs, read contract documents, and support bid packages under senior staff guidance.

This role offers increasing independence, a hybrid office environment, and growth within our nationwide operating companies. Strong collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed/conceptual cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical projects.
• Read, interpret, and analyze contract documents including plans/specs/addenda.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
• Organize estimate data and pricing; solicit pricing from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Assist in bid proposals, RFPs/RFQs, and presentations; lead on bid packages as needed.
