Modigent is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator II to prepare accurate cost estimates and support competitive bids for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems.

Working under senior staff, you will perform quantity takeoffs, analyze contract documents, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and help assemble complete bid packages while growing toward greater responsibility in preconstruction.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of relevant experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or mechanical project coordination (commercial mechanical/HVAC/plumbing strongly preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Hybrid work environment with occasional travel to project sites.

Responsabilités

• Prepare detailed and conceptual cost estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical projects.
• Read, interpret, and analyze contract documents including plans, specifications, addenda, scopes of work, and general conditions.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
• Organize estimate data, pricing information, and assumptions; solicit pricing from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Assist in (and increasingly lead) the preparation of bid proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, bid packages, and presentations.
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, constructability issues, and cost-saving alternatives during estimating.
