Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop detailed piping and mechanical equipment designs for power generation and related facilities. The role involves creating layouts, 3D models, and P&IDs for steam cycle, water treatment, fuel handling, and other systems.

The position requires experience in 3D design, proficiency with major design tools, and the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team on EPC projects. Office locations include Houston and other cities.

Qualifications

• 3-12 years’ experience in design/drafting with piping/mechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s/Associate in Drafting/Design or engineering preferred; high school or GED acceptable.
• Experience with 3D programs to create and check designs for constructability.

Responsibilities

• Draft sketches, P&IDs, plans and 3D models for power plant systems.
• Check deliverables against codes, standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with drafters and designers; train interns; meet project schedules.
