Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop piping and mechanical equipment designs for power plants and related facilities. You will create 3D models, layouts and P&IDs, ensuring constructability and code compliance across EPC projects.

The role supports a diverse portfolio and offers growth within a collaborative, employee-owned culture. The candidate will work from multiple office locations with remote start in Chattanooga, progressing to hybrid/in-office as offices open.

Qualifications

• Background in piping and mechanical equipment design in 3D environments.
• Experience preferred in power generation projects or EPC settings.
• Degree in drafting/design or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft sketches, P&IDs, plans and 3D models for power plant systems.
• Check deliverables against codes, standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with drafters, designers and project team; train interns.
• Work independently and as part of a larger design team; manage changes.
