Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Designer to develop piping and mechanical systems for power facilities, including steam, water treatment and fuel handling systems. You will create 3D models and detailed layouts for EPC projects, ensuring constructability and compliance with codes.

The role requires design experience in piping/mechanical systems within a power generation context, and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 3–12 years in design or drafting for piping and/or mechanical equipment and systems in a 3D environment.
• Experience in power generation projects is preferred.
• Ability to conceptualize and model complex piping and equipment layouts for EPC projects.

Responsibilities

• Draft sketches, P&IDs, plans, sections, and 3D models for power plant systems.
• Ensure designs meet industry codes, standards and constructability requirements.
• Coordinate with drafters and designers, and support project progress.
• Train or mentor interns or new graduates as needed.
• Identify scope changes and adjust designs to stay on budget and schedule.
• Support project meetings and deliverables.
