Job summary

P2S|CMTA is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer focused on HVAC system design for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. You will lead design efforts, coordinate with architects and other engineers, and drive projects from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of HVAC design experience, strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with energy modeling and LEED/ASHRAE standards. This role is based in Long Beach with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–10 years of HVAC design experience in consulting/design-build environment.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; knowledge of HVAC load calculation software.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC system design including load calculations and equipment selection.
• Prepare drawings and specifications per codes and project requirements.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing teams.
• Conduct field surveys and develop retrofit or upgrade solutions.
• Support project development from concept through construction administration.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC reviews.
• Stay updated with building codes and industry standards.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
