Job summary

Shannon & Wilson Inc., an employee-owned geotechnical consulting firm based in Seattle, WA, seeks an experienced Geologist to conduct field explorations, collect samples, and report findings. This role emphasizes lab data management, LiDAR analysis, and collaboration with clients and subcontractors on civil projects.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Geology or Engineering Geology, 7–14 years of experience, LG licensure, and strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or Engineering Geology is required; advanced degree preferred.
• LG licensure required; 7–14 years of geology experience preferred.
• Experience with LiDAR data and field reconnaissance mapping helpful.
• Strong writing, organizational and communication abilities are essential.
• Willingness to travel to support multiple Shannon & Wilson offices.

Responsibilities

• Perform field explorations, collect samples, and prepare field reports.
• Organize laboratory data and conduct soil index tests where applicable.
• Reported data and interact with subcontractors, clients, and staff at all levels.
• Assist with business development, including cost proposals.
• Follow QA and health & safety policies and procedures.
