Job summary

Shannon & Wilson seeks an entry-level Geologist to perform field explorations, collect samples, and assist with field reports. Opportunity to gain experience in drilling techniques and geotechnical interpretation while traveling to support various field sites.

Candidates should have a BS in Geology (MS preferred) and 0–6 years of related experience, with strong writing and communication skills and a willingness to work independently or with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Geology or Engineering Geology; MS preferred.
• 0–6 years of geology experience, field sampling and testing experience a plus.
• Able to travel to support field and office needs; holds a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field explorations, collect samples, construction observation, and prepare field reports.
• Experience with drilling techniques including mud rotary, hollow stem auger, down-hole bucket auger, rotary coring.
• Organize laboratory data and report data.
• Interact with subcontractors, clients, and staff at all levels.
• Assist with proposals and business development activities.
